The LMIC Scholarship is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts.
The Scholarship aims to provide opportunities for individuals working in road safety (including researchers, practitioners, policy makers and police) who are citizens of low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to present research, case studies, projects or initiatives undertaken in their country that promote road safety at a local, national or regional level.
How to apply?
All applicants are required to submit an extended abstract to the Australasian Road Safety Conference (ARSC) in response to the Conference call for papers and indicate their intention to apply for the LMIC Scholarship as part of the abstract submission process. Submission and presentation of an abstract at the Conference is a requirement of the Scholarship.
All submitted extended abstracts will be subject to peer review alongside all other Conference submissions. Once abstract submissions close and peer review is complete, a list of applicants who indicated their intention to apply for the LMIC Scholarship, along with the outcome of their peer review, will be provided to the LMIC Scholarship Committee for assessment.
Applicants progressing to the next stage may be invited to respond to additional questions to assist the Scholarship Committee in its decision-making.
