Truck driver fatigue – a S.W.O.T. analysis 

This workshop will discuss truck driver fatigue in the context of a ‘S.W.O.T.’ (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis. Following an introductory presentation discussing truck driver fatigue related crash data, speakers will present their perspectives regarding the ‘Strengths’ and ‘Weaknesses’ of the current systems they work under or administer, the ‘Opportunities’ they see for improvements and the ‘Threats’ to the implementation of systems they believe would help reduce truck driver fatigue related road crashes. Speakers will be drawn from 2 cohorts – operators/truck drivers and enforcers/regulators who work within an HVNL jurisdiction, a non-HVNL jurisdiction, and international jurisdictions. Speakers then join a Q&A panel where questions are from the floor will be invited.
