Prof. Narelle Haworth

Professor Narelle Haworth AM is a Research Professor at CARRS-Q, the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety-Queensland. She has more than 30 years of experience in road safety research and this year was made a Member of the Order of Australia for “significant service to the road transport industry, and to accident research”. Narelle is also Vice-President-Policy and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Road Safety. Her special interest is in improving the safety of the most vulnerable road users – pedestrians, bicyclists, e-scooter riders and motorcyclists – and other groups such as roadworkers. Ms Amy Schramm is a Senior Research Officer with many years of experience at CARRS-Q. She has worked on a number of large projects in the areas of vulnerable road user safety, including analyzing crash data, designing and conducting surveys of VRUs and motorists and undertaking observational studies of the interactions between cyclists and other road users. She is an experienced road safety researcher who has published nationally and internationally on a range of road safety topics, including vulnerable road users, intelligent transport systems, and older drivers.
