Applications for ARSC 2024 LGA Scholarship are closed.
Thanks to the generous support of the Safe Local Roads and Streets Program (SLRSP), funded by the Transport Accident Commission and delivered in partnership with the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), the ARSC2024 Organising Committee is delighted to offer the Victorian LGA Scholarship program.
Each year, around 40% of fatal and serious injury TAC claims occur on local roads that are managed and maintained by LGAs. The TAC, in collaboration with the DTP, have developed a new program, SLRSP to fund and support LGAs to deliver upgrades on their local roads, intersections, and precincts by 2027 – with allocations of up to $2 million issued for priority road safety projects.
The SLRSP aims to:
- Transform the road network through the implementation of proven, cost-effective Safe System infrastructure to reduce the number of fatal and serious (MAIS 3+) injuries on local roads
- Enhance or build Safe System capacity and capability in LGAs
These scholarships are aimed specifically at those who would be otherwise unable to attend the ARSC conference 2024. Note that applicants for this scholarship do NOT have to submit a conference abstract to be eligible.
