Your Invitation to ARSC 2022

A welcome message from our Co-Chairs

Nau mai, Haere mai ki Ōtautahi

As Co-Chairs of the New Zealand Chapter of the Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS), we are thrilled to welcome you to 2022 Australasian Road Safety Conference in beautiful Ōtautahi, Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand.  The conference will be held at Christchurch’s brand new convention and exhibition centre, Te Pae, which is set in the heart of the city centre overlooking the iconic Avon River.

The ACRS is delighted to be joining forces with the New Zealand Local Authority Traffic Institute (Trafinz) to deliver this year’s conference, which will be held as a hybrid – providing the opportunity for delegates to attend face to face or virtually.  This year’s conference represents the first opportunity in three years for ACRS members and other conference delegates to attend the Australasian Road Safety Conference in person, so we are looking forward to a big turnout.

The conference provides a critical forum for everyone interested in road safety to come together to share stories, celebrate success, make connections and learn from one another, as we work towards our common goal of eliminating deaths and serious injuries from our road networks.

There is a saying in New Zealand that is particularly apt for the conference:

He aha te mea nui o te ao
What is the most important thing in the world?

He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata
It is the people, it is the people, it is the people!
