With a theme of ‘Towards Zero – A Fresh Approach‘, the conference will be a multi-disciplinary event featuring representatives from all facets of road and transport safety including research, teaching, practice and policy.
We’ll kick things off with a series of pre-conference meetings and events on Monday 27 September, 2021 and we’ll conclude with our conference awards presentation on Thursday 30 September, 2021.
Our pre-conference events begin with the Early Career Professional event on Monday 27 September from 2:30 pm AEST. This online event is for individuals who are just starting out their careers in road and transport safety, and will connect them with experience road safety individuals.
The interactive online session will feature guest speakers, along with road safety trivia. The event is free to participants and is generously supported by the ACT Government.
The event will be hosted by Dr Tana Tan and Kenn Beer from Safe System Solutions Pty Ltd and will feature Paulette Ziekemijjer and David Young from Transport Accident Commission (TAC), Andrew Hardwick from Hard Edge & Re:act, and Amanda Stephens from Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC).
A special International Outreach Chapter (IOC) event will be also be held on the 27 September from 4:00 pm AEST. This event is open to all whether or not you are an IOC member. We welcome everyone to register and join this special event!
This pre-Conference event will be the 4th IOC meeting where we will have the opportunity to discuss the survey results and contribute to shaping the future of the IOC. We will have the opportunity to learn from each other about the road safety work to date and intentions for the next decade by the members representing multiple countries around the world.
Those who are not yet IOC members are welcome to join this 4th IOC meeting and become part of this exciting group of people dedicated to improving road safety outcomes in LMICs.
