Thanks to everyone who has provided a submission for this year’s Australasian Road Safety Conference. We are excited to share the fresh approaches and new ideas received from road safety stakeholders and decision-makers from across the globe.

The Australasian Road Safety Conference is the most significant annual road safety event in our region. Every year, the conference brings together professionals from government, industry, research and general road user community to share knowledge and build networks to support our efforts to eliminate serious trauma on our roads. Submissions are welcome from everyone including practice and policy, research, policing and enforcement, education, health and medicine, law, design, media and the community.

All enquiries should be sent to:

Extended Abstract Submissions

To submit an Extended Abstract (for Oral, Poster or Symposium presentation):

Note: authors requesting full paper extension will be notified after all submissions have been peer-review.

Symposium Presentations

Symposium sessions will run for 90 minutes, and will typically include 3-4 speakers in a symposium although other formats will be considered. ARSC 2021 requires speakers to submit an Extended Abstract for traditional format Symposiums with 3-4 speakers. Alternate formats may include a panel session and/or audience participation, etc. The Symposium Proposal and Speaker Extended Abstracts must be submitted by the same deadline required for the Oral Presentation stream. These sessions will be included as part of the main conference program, and will be finalised by the Conference Scientific Committee for their value in regards to contribution to the Conference and Road Safety.

To submit a Symposium Proposal:

On behalf of the ARSC 2021 Scientific Committee, we are looking forward to hearing more about your work to eliminate serious trauma on our roads at ARSC 2021 in Melbourne.

Poster Presentations

ACRS2021 is partnering with Monash Art, Design and Architecture (MADA) this year to link Poster Authors with final year graphic design students. This will give authors an opportunity develop high quality visual communications (e.g. infographics) of their poster content.

All Posters will be displayed on Posters Boards in the catering area where delegates will congregate and network during morning and afternoon tea/coffee breaks and lunch for the three days. Also each Poster Author will be offered a 5 minute speed Oral presentation in one of the program’s concurrent sessions.

Please note:

  • We will not be able to offer an extension as we need to fit in with the university semester
  • Authors will be free to use the final artwork after the conference with a citation of the student’s name
  • This is an experiment and, depending on demand, we may not be able to match every poster with a student
  • If we are not able to match a student with a poster, authors will be responsible for creating their poster as per previous years
  • We are currently reviewing the poster award criteria to ensure the judging is fair and transparent for all authors
