ARSC2020 Regional and Remote Road Safety Scholarship Program (Australasia-wide)

Thanks to the generous support of the Department of Transport (Road Safety Victoria) and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), the ARSC2020 Organising Committee is delighted to announce the call for applications for $70,500 worth of Regional and Rural Scholarships to attend ARSC2020.

The Regional and Rural Scholarships are for those working in road safety in regional and rural areas outside of the Capital Cities of all Australian States and Territories and New Zealand Regions.

 

There are two (2) scholarships available:

  • Australian and New Zealand Regional and Rural scholarship, and;
  • Victorian Regional and Rural Local Government Scholarship.

 

The Scholarships cover travel, accommodation and full conference registration up to a value of $3,500 for Australian and New Zealand delegates. Depending upon the number of applications a part scholarship may also be offered.

The scholarships are for those employed by organisations that are not for profits, small business, Local Government, community groups (or you may be a volunteer) or similar. Research students and new researchers (those in the first two years of employment) can also apply if they meet the above regional and rural criteria. Note that in addition to the regional and rural scholarship, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is offering additional scholarships for Victorian Regional and Rural Local Government employees only.

Applicants for these scholarships do NOT have to submit a conference abstract to be eligible.

Australian and New Zealand Regional and Rural Scholarship Criteria (available for Not-For-Profit, Small Business, Community Group, Educational Institution or Local Government entities):

  • Must be employed in Regional/Rural Australia and New Zealand
  • Must be 18 years or over
  • Must not be receiving a scholarship or other funding assistance from another entity to participate in the conference
  • Must be an employee from Not for profit, Small business, Community group, Education institution or Local Government
  • All applicants must provide an outline of the benefits they expect to achieve from attending the conference in the context of their role (250 word or less), as per the application form

 

Victorian Regional and Rural Local Government Scholarship Criteria

  • Must be a Victorian Local Government employee in a regional or rural area (classed as a Shire or Regional City / Rural City Council)
  • Must be 18 years or over
  • Must not be receiving a scholarship or other funding assistance from another entity to participate in the conference
  • All applicants must provide an outline of the benefits they expect to achieve from attending the conference in the context of their role (250 word or less), as per the application form
