Entry Requirements

If you are travelling from overseas to attend ARSC 2022, it is important to have the right passport and visa organised for a trouble free entry into New Zealand. On this page you will find helpful links and ideas to make entering New Zealand as easy as possible for you, including any Covid-19 precautions that need to be taken. The requirements to enter New Zealand are subject to change in accordance with any NZ Government announcements.

Travelling From Australia

Australian citizens are eligible to visit New Zealand without applying for a visa as long as you meet the character and entry permission requirements. A visa will be granted to you on arrival in New Zealand. Australian citizens also do not need to apply for a NZeTA, where as Australian permanent residents will still need to apply for a NZeTA but do not have to pay the International Visitor Levy. From April 12 vaccinated Australian citizens and permanent residents can enter New Zealand and self-test on arrival without entering Managed Isolation and Quarantine. Hassle Free Travel

When you arrive in New Zealand, your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure date and if required, have a valid New Zealand visa.

The table on the right shows visa wavier countries and territories. As of May 1st 2022, this means you do not have to hold a New Zealand visa to enter the country. However, you will have to request a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA). You can find out more about visa waiver countries and the NZeTA by clicking here. COVID-19 Requirements

To enter New Zealand there are requirements that need to be meet before you travel, including completing a travel declaration and having documentation of a negative test before departure. It is important to ensure you have acceptable documentation of the negative test result. More information about about pre-departure tests and acceptable documentation can be found here.

Most non-New Zealand citizens must meet the COVID-19 vaccination requirements before travelling to New Zealand, some exceptions apply. You may also apply for a vaccination exemption depending on your circumstances. To find out more about vaccination status’ to enter New Zealand click here.

It is important to ensure proper hygiene practice’s whilst out in the community, such as washing and sanitizing your hands, and wearing a mask.
